June 30

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and my clients and I caught five Master Angler fish including four northern pike between 10 and 13 pounds plus a 29-inch wiper. We caught these fish on a Carolina rig using shiners, 5-inch flutter spoons, 3 ½- and 5-inch ProMinnow swimbaits, and jigging spoons around underwater humps, underwater road beds, main lake points, and edges of creek channels in depths of 30 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the upper 70s.

June 29

I fished at a private sand pit lake for a few hours in the late afternoon. I caught a Master Angler largemouth bass at 21 inches. I also caught smaller largemouth bass between 17 and 19 ½ inches using a 5-inch ProMinnow swimbait and a 5-inch flutter spoon around deep points, edges of deep flats, and weed beds.

June 28

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and my clients and I caught two Master Angler northern pike. We also caught smaller pike, wipers up to 22 inches, white bass up to 13 inches, walleyes up to 18 inches, and a few freshwater drum. We caught these fish around main lake points, underwater humps, underwater road beds, and edges of creek channels using a Carolina rig with shiners, 5-inch flutter spoons, and a 3 ½- and 5-inch ProMinnow swimbaits on a jig head.

June 27

I guided a father and son for a half day on Red Willow Reservoir that is fishing 50 Trophy Waters in 50 States in 50 days. They caught three nice northern pike, walleyes, and white bass. They were using a Carolina rig with shiners around underwater humps, road beds, and main points in depths of 28 feet or less. The surface water temperature is in the upper 70s.

In the mid-afternoon my brother Tim and I fished at two different private sand pit lakes. We caught good numbers of largemouth bass up to 19 ½ inches, plus a nice crappie. I caught my fish on a 5-inch flutter spoon, and a 3 ½- and 5-inch ProMinnow swimbait on a jig head. My my brother used a plastic worm on a jig head. We caught our fish  around deep points, edges of flats next to deep water, and edges of deep weed beds in depths of 25 feet or less.

June 26

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and caught a Master Angler Northern pike. My clients and I also caught smaller northern pike, good numbers of wipers, white bass, walleye and a crappie. We caught these fish around main lake points, underwater humps, road beds, and edges of creek channels using a Carolina rig with shiners, 3- and 5-inch flutter spoons, and ProMinnow swimbaits on a jighead.

June 23-24

I guided on both days at Red Willow Reservoir and my clients and I caught two Master Angler northern pike at 38 ½ and 37 inches. We also caught smaller northern pike, good numbers of wipers, white bass, walleyes, a few drum, largemouth bass, and a crappie. We caught these fish using a Carolina rig with shiners, 3 ½- and 5-inch Pro swimbaits, 3- and 5-inch flutter spoons, and a ReelBait Flasher jig with a 3 ½-inch swimbait. They were caught around main lake points, flats next to deep water, underwater road beds, underwater humps, and edges of creek channels.

June 22

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and my clients and I caught seven Master Angler fish including six northern pike and one wiper. We also caught smaller northern pike up between 32 and 35 inches, wipers up to 22 inches, white bass up to 14 inches, walleyes, and a largemouth bass. We caught these fish around underwater humps, underwater road beds, main lake points, and edges of creek channels in depths of 30 feet or less. We were using a Carolina rig with shiners, 5-inch flutter spoons, and 3 ½- and 5-inch ProMinnow Swimbaits. The surface water temperature is in the upper 70s.

June 20-21

I guided the same clients on both days at Red Willow Reservoir and we caught four Master Angler northern pike. We also caught wipers, white bass, walleyes, a few freshwater drum, and a largemouth bass. We caught these fish on a Carolina rig using shiners, 5-inch flutter spoons, and swimbaits on a jig head around underwater humps, main lake points, edges of creek channels, and underwater road beds. The surface water temperature is in the mid 70s.

June 18-19

I guided on both days at Red Willow Reservoir and my client and I caught seven Master Angler fish including five northern pike, one wiper and one drum). We also caught smaller northern pike, wipers, white bass, walleyes, largemouth bass, and a perch. These fish were caught around main lake points, underwater islands, edges of creek channels, underwater road beds, edges of flats next to deep water, and creek channel bends in depths of 32 feet or less. We were using a Carolina rig with shiners, 3 1/2- and 5-inch swimbaits, 3-, 4-, and 5-inch flutter spoons, and a ReelBait Flasher jig with 3 1/2 -inch swimbaits. The surface water temperature is averaging in the lower 70s.

June 16-17

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and my clients and I are still catching nice wipers including a 26 ¼-inch Master Angler wiper, northern pike, white bass, walleyes, largemouth bass, a few crappies and fresh water drum. We caught these fish on a 3-, 4-, and 5-inch flutter spoons, swimbaits on a jig head, and a Carolina Rig with shiners around underwater islands, edges of creek channel bends, underwater road beds, main lake points, and edges of flats next to deep water in depths of 32 feet or less. The surface water temperature is averaging in the lower 70s.

June 11-14

I guided on all four days at Red Willow Reservoir. My clients and I caught good numbers of white bass, wipers, walleyes, northern pike, plus a few crappies and fresh water drum, and a perch. We caught fish around main lake points, underwater islands, edges of creek channel bends, road beds, and flats next to the creek channel or near deep water in depths of 30 feet or less. We caught them on a Carolina Rig with shiners, 3 ½- and 5-inch swimbaits, ReelBait Flasher Jig with a 3 ½-inch swimbait, Lytle's Secret Tail Spinners, jigging spoons, and 3-, 4-, and 5-inch flutter spoons. The surface water temperature is averaging in the upper 60s.

June 9-10

I guided both days on Red Willow Reservoir, and my clients and I are still catching northern pike, wipers, white bass, walleyes, and a few nice crappies and fresh water drum in depths between 15 and 30 feet. We caught these fish on a Carolina rig with shiners, Lytle's Secret tailspinners, 3 ½- and 5-inch swimbaits, 3-, 4-, and 5-inch flutter spoons, and jigging spoons around main lake points, underwater humps, road beds, edges of creek channel bends, and flats next to the creek channel or near deep water. The water temperature dropped to the mid 60s dues to the cooler weather and rains we had the last few days.

June 7-8

My brother, Tim, and I fished at two different private sand pit lakes in the early evening for a few hours. We caught good numbers of largemouth bass up to 19½ inches around points, underwater brush piles, edges of weed beds, and edges of flats next to deep water. I caught them on a 5-inch swimbait, and my brother was using 6-inch plastic worms.

June 7-8

I guided the same clients both days at Red Willow Reservoir, and my client caught a nice 36-inch Master Angler northern pike that weighted a little over 11 pounds. My clients and I also caught smaller pike, good numbers of wipers, white bass, walleyes, a few freshwater drum, and a perch on a Carolina rig with shiners, 3 ½- and 5-inch swimbaits, 3-, 4-, and 5-inch flutter spoons, and jigging spoons. These fish were caught around underwater humps, road beds, main lake points, edges of creek channel bends, flats next to the creek channel or near deep water, and along the dam areas in depths of 28 feet or less.

June 4-6

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir all three days. My clients and I are catching wipers up to 23 ½ inches, white bass up to 13 inches, largemouth bass up to 19 inches, northern pike up to 33 inches, walleyes up to 20 inches, a few crappies and smallmouth bass, and small perch. We're catching these fish on a Carolina rig with shiners, Lytle's Secret tailspinners, ReelBait Flasher jigs with a 3- or 4-inch swimbaits, 3 ½- and 5-inch swimbaits, jigging spoons, jigs and plastic craws, drop shot rigs with 4-inch plastic worms, and 3-, 4-, and 5-inch flutter spoons. The fish are being caught around main lake points, back in coves, edges of cheek channel bends, flats next to the creek channel or near deep water, underwater humps, road beds, and near the dam areas in depths of 28 feet or less. The surface water temperature is averaging anywhere between 68 to 72 degrees.

June 3

I fished at a private sand pit lake for a few hours in the late afternoon. I caught around a dozen or more largemouth bass between 16 and 19 inches on a 5-inch swimbait around edges of weed beds, points, underwater brush piles, and flats next to deep water in depths of 18 feet or less.

June 1

I guided on Red Willow Reservoir and my clients and I are still catching wipers up to 23 inches, white bass up to 13 inches, walleyes up to 20 inches, northern pike up to 33 inches, nice crappies and largemouth bass. These fish were caught around main lake points, edges of creek channel bends, flats next to the creek channel or near deep water, underwater humps, and road beds in depths of 25 feet or less using a Carolina Rig with shiners, Lytle's Secret Tail Spinners, 3 ½-inch swimbaits, ReelBait Flasher jigs with swimbaits, and a 5-inch flutter spoon.
