March 29
My brother Tim and I fished below Medicine Creek Reservoir in the
creek. We caught good numbers of small white bass, northern pikes up
to 32 inches, largemouth bass up to 18 inches, channel catfish up to
19 inches, four walleyes up to 21 inches, a few freshwater drum up
to 15 inches, an 18-inch wiper, and an 8-inch bluegill. We caught
these fish on lipless crankbaits, shallow running crankbaits,
jerkbaits, Berkley Gulp! 3- and 4-inch Minnow, spoons, and
spinnerbaits around the deeper holes in the creek.
March 23
My two brothers and I fished below Medicine Creek Reservoir in the
creek in the afternoon. We caught good numbers of northern pike up
to 34 inches, a few walleyes up to 18 inches, three largemouth bass
between 13 and 18 inches, and a few small white bass. Most of these
fish were caught on spinnerbaits,
Lytle's
Secret tailspinners, and
a few on swimbaits, jerkbaits, lipless crankbaits, and jig heads
with Berkley Gulp! Minnow in the deeper holes along the creek.
March 21, 22
My younger brother Tim and I fished at five different private sand
pit lakes. My brother caught a nice fat Master Angler largemouth
bass at 23 inches that weighted close to eight pounds on March 21.
The next day he caught a 14-inch Master Angler yellow perch. We also
caught goods numbers of largemouth bass between 10 and 19.50 inches,
a few crappies around 13 inches, and a few smaller perch up to 12
inches.
We caught these fish on ¾-ounce
Lytle's
Secret tailspinners, ¼-
and ½-ounce jigs with plastic trailers, suspending jerkbaits,
4-inch swimbaits, spinnerbaits, and jig heads with a Berkley Gulp!
3-inch minnow. These fish were caught next to the drop off next to
deep water near points, underwater brush piles, and edges of deep
flats in depth of 25 feet or less. 
March 20
My brother Rod and I fished below Medicine Creek Reservoir in the
creek in the afternoon. We caught northern pike between 24 and 32
inches, wipers between 15 and 22 inches, a few walleyes up to 17
inches, and an 18-inch largemouth bass. We caught these fish on
jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, and jig heads with a Berkley Gulp! Minnow
around the deeper holes in the creek.
March 17, 19
My friend (fished with on the 17th) and I fished at three different
private sand pit lakes in the afternoon. We caught good numbers of
largemouth bass between 10 and 19 inches, and a nice crappie about
14 inches. We caught these fish on a ½-ounce football jig with
plastic craw trailers, suspending jerkbaits, and a ¾-ounce
Lytle's
Secret tailspinner around deep points, edges of flats next to deep
water, underwater brush piles, and edges of deep weed beds in depths
of 20 feet or less.
March 16
My older brother, Rod, and his son and I fished below Medicine Creek
Reservoir in the spillway, and holes in the creek in the afternoon.
We caught eight flathead catfish between 26 and 46 inches including
five Master Angler fish at 46, 42, 39, 36, and 33 inches. I also
caught a Master Angler wiper at 24 inches, We also caught seven
northern pike between 24 and 33 inches, and white bass up to 13
inches. We caught these fish on suspending jerkbaits, 4-and 5-inch
flutter spoons, spinnerbaits, and jig heads with Berkley Gulp!
Minnow. 
March 9
My older brother, Rod, and I fished below Medicine Creek Reservoir
in the spillway, and a deep hole in the creek. We caught three
Master Angler flathead catfish including two at 36 inches and one at
35 inches, three wipers between 20 and 22 inches, small white bass,
a 32-inch northern pike, a small drum, and a channel catfish. We
caught these fish on suspending jerkbaits, flutter Spoons, and a jig
head with Berkley Gulp! minnow, and or Fish Fry. 
March 8
My younger brother, and I fished at four different private sand pit
lakes. We caught seven largemouth bass including my Master Angler at
21 inches. The other bass were between 15 and 19 inches. We also
caught good numbers of crappies up to 13 inches and bluegills up to
8.50 inches. The largemouth bass were caught on jigs with twin tails
or craw plastic trailer, and a suspending jerkbait. The crappies and
bluegills were caught on a jig head with Berkley Gulp! Fish Fry.
These fish were caught around the drop off next to points, and
underwater brush piles in depths of 26 feet or less.
March 7
My older son, younger brother, and I fished below Medicine Creek
Reservoir in the spillway, and a few deep holes along the creek. We
caught two Master Angler flathead catfish at 49 and 40 inches, six
wipers between 18 and 22 inches, small white bass, channel catfish,
a few drum, and a non-keeper walleye. We caught these fish on
suspending jerkbaits, flutter Spoons, Zoom Super Fluke, and a jig
head with Berkley Gulp! Fish Fry.

March 6
I fished at a private sand pit lake for a few hours in the
afternoon. I caught two nice largemouth bass, including a
19.50-incher on a football jig with a Strike King Rage Tail Craw.
The other bass was caught on a suspending jerkbait and measured 18
inches. These fish were caught around the drop off next to a deep
point in depths between 15 and 25 feet.
March 5
A friend and I fished for northern pike in the afternoon at Red
Willow Reservoir. We caught five pike between 7 and 10.25 pounds in
a large cove on suspending jerkbaits. The surface water temperature
in this cove was in the lower 40s, and the water clarity is very
clear.
March 2-4
I fished at three different private sand pit lakes in the afternoon
for a few hours. I caught good numbers of crappies up to 14.50
inches, largemouth bass up to 19 inches, and a few nice bluegill up
to 9 inches. I caught the largemouth bass on 1/2- and 3/4-ounce
football jigs with a Strike King Rage Tail Craw, and suspending
jerkbaits. The crappies and bluegills were caught on a small jig
head with Berkley Gulp! Fish Fry. These fish were caught around the
drop off next to points, underwater brush piles, and edges of flats
next to deep water in depth of 28 feet or less.
